Programme Officer (P-2) – Education Team

About the role

UNICEF Honduras is seeking a Programme Officer (P-2) to support the Education team in delivering rights‑based programmes. The role involves managing project cycles, monitoring progress, and ensuring effective use of resources to improve children’s access to quality education.

Key responsibilities

• Manage knowledge and documentation for education programmes.
• Develop, implement and oversee programme activities and budgets.
• Monitor and evaluate programme performance against results‑based indicators.
• Promote rights‑based approaches and advocacy at national, community and family levels.
• Build capacity of national and local partners for sustainable outcomes.
• Coordinate with diverse stakeholders, including government, NGOs and community groups.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Project Management, Public Administration, Public Policy, Social Development or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant professional experience.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Demonstrated ability to manage rights‑based and results‑based programmes.
• Experience analysing data to inform decision‑making.
• Knowledge of programme reporting, evaluation and fund monitoring.
• Experience engaging and coordinating with diverse stakeholders.
