UH60 Aircraft Mechanic II

About the role

The UH60 Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible for performing avionics, electrical, and structural maintenance on UH‑60 helicopters. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying aircraft components to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform avionics, electrical, and hydraulic repairs using hand and power tools, including shears, sheet‑metal brakes, welding equipment, rivet guns, and drills.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
• Conduct 100‑hour, progressive, phase, and calendar inspections of engines and airframe components, detecting cracks, corrosion, and other defects.
• Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reinstall engines and related systems using hoists, forklifts, and specialized test equipment.
• Document all work performed in aircraft logbooks and maintenance records, and supervise jacking and towing operations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid up‑to‑date A&P license with at least two years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary‑wing experience, and two years on UH‑60 aircraft.
• US citizenship and a valid US passport for facility credentials.
• Ability to work in austere, noisy, and dirty environments and meet physical requirements.

Required skills

• Aircraft mechanical troubleshooting and repair procedures.
• Electrical theory and aircraft wiring repair.
• Use of test equipment such as ignition analyzers, compression checkers, distributor timers, ammeters, and Jetcal testers.
• Proficiency with torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, and other precision tools.
• Familiarity with military technical publications and logistics information systems (ULLS‑A(E)).
