Frontend Engineer (GIS & Data Visualization)

About the role

You will join a dynamic team as a Mid‑to‑Senior Frontend Engineer focused on building intuitive, data‑driven web applications that visualise geospatial information. The role combines modern JavaScript development with interactive mapping and dashboard creation, ensuring high performance and accessibility.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain large‑scale interactive maps with layer controls, colour‑coding, and manual overrides.
• Create operational dashboards that transform complex data into clear, actionable user experiences.
• Implement WCAG 2.1 AA compliant interfaces and support accessibility testing throughout the lifecycle.
• Work with geospatial and operational data to deliver responsive, user‑friendly map‑based features.
• Participate in beta feedback cycles, defect resolution, UI improvements, and overall application hardening.
• Collaborate via documented designs, code reviews, Git workflows, and ticket‑based development processes.
• Leverage AI‑assisted development tools to increase efficiency and code quality.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional frontend development experience.
• Proven ability to work in structured delivery environments with documented designs and ticket‑based workflows.
• Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
• Availability for at least 4 hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours.

Required skills

• Modern JavaScript frameworks – preferably React or Angular.
• Web mapping libraries such as ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, MapLibre, Leaflet, or Google Maps.
• Experience building data visualisations, dashboards, and data‑driven UI components.
• Implementation of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.
• Git and collaborative development workflows.
• AI‑assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) or similar.
