About the role

Banco LAFISE is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its Legal team as an In‑House Attorney focused on judicial and extrajudicial debt recovery. The role combines office work with field visits to courts, property institutes, and clients, aiming to maximize the recovery of delinquent portfolios while adhering to legal and ethical standards.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct direct collection negotiations with debtors, guarantors, and co‑debtors through calls, visits, and settlement agreements.
• Draft, file, and manage judicial claims, ensuring timely procedural progress.
• Monitor ongoing court actions, including orders, seizures, expert reports, and court clerks’ activities.
• Maintain and update the debt‑collection management system (ACOBI) with chronological case files.
• Represent the bank in hearings, field diligences, and periodic portfolio status reviews.
• Ensure strict compliance with the Code of Ethics, dual‑control policies, and anti‑money‑laundering regulations.

Required profile

• Law degree (licensed attorney) with a focus on Civil or Commercial Law.
• Minimum one year of experience in judicial collection, litigation, or similar roles within financial institutions or law firms.
• Valid procurement card (mandatory) and personal vehicle.
• Residence in San Pedro Sula and willingness to work both in the office and on‑site.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of the Civil Procedural Code, commercial legislation, and current financial regulations.
• Proficiency with Google Suite tools.
• Experience using a debt‑collection management system (e.g., ACOBI).
