Data Engineer – Azure Databricks (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Data Engineer specialized in Azure Databricks to design, build, and maintain scalable data architectures in the Microsoft cloud. You will bridge raw data sources and analytical insights, ensuring high‑performance pipelines for reporting and data science.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and automate large‑scale data ingestion and transformation pipelines using Azure Databricks.
• Implement and optimise ETL/ELT processes to deliver clean, structured data for downstream consumption.
• Build and manage data lakehouse architectures, guaranteeing data consistency across storage layers.
• Collaborate with analysts and data scientists to define data requirements and support complex queries.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure platform stability.
• Apply data governance and quality controls to maintain data integrity and security in Azure.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Proven track record building data pipelines on Azure Databricks.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data transformation and optimisation.
• Strong understanding of Azure‑native services and cloud data architecture.
• Hands‑on experience supporting analytics and reporting workflows.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
