About the role

Gildan is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead supplier performance and drive procurement strategies for its apparel product lines. The role works closely with regional manufacturing teams to ensure cost efficiency, on‑time delivery, and compliance with contracts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the performance of assigned suppliers, covering total cost of ownership, delivery timeliness, inventory levels, contract adherence, and penalty compliance.
• Provide category intelligence, conduct negotiations, and ensure expense and price compliance for raw‑material strategies.
• Act as the primary liaison between regional manufacturing teams and suppliers, communicating strategies and performance issues.
• Define and support quantifiable performance indicators for assigned product categories.
• Monitor and resolve supplier issues, PO discrepancies, and shipping problems, reporting to key stakeholders.
• Develop and communicate recovery plans for regional delivery challenges.
• Identify and qualify new supply sources within the region.
• Collect, analyze, and report supplier KPI data such as capacity, competencies, scorecards, and innovation.
• Implement strategies to deliver greater value to the business and build specialized market expertise.

Required profile

• Proven experience in supplier performance management and procurement within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical ability to define and track performance metrics.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Capability to lead negotiations and drive cost‑saving initiatives.
