Import Export Coordinator

About the role

The Import/Export Coordinator ensures the smooth movement of international freight from origin to destination. Working closely with customers, carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers and internal teams, the coordinator provides proactive shipment updates and resolves transportation issues.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate import and export shipments from origin through final delivery.
• Track shipments and deliver timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses and vendors to guarantee smooth execution.
• Schedule pickups, deliveries and other transportation activities.
• Resolve shipment delays while maintaining high customer‑service standards.
• Maintain accurate shipment records in internal systems.
• Collaborate with internal departments to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and company procedures.
• Build and sustain strong relationships with logistics partners.
• Support additional logistics and operational tasks as assigned.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, International Business or related field preferred.
• At least one year of experience in import/export, freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, shipping or supply‑chain operations.
• Experience coordinating international shipments and working with carriers or freight forwarders is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
• Familiarity with TMS, ERP or CRM systems is advantageous.
• Strong organizational, communication and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment and work both independently and collaboratively.
