IT Operations Center Administrator

About the role

The IT Operations Center Administrator monitors Gildan’s global systems and software applications, ensuring they run smoothly and supporting the company’s worldwide data centers. The role requires proactive problem‑solving, coordination across time zones, and bilingual communication.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot software applications and IT business processes, identifying performance bottlenecks and failures.
• Perform proactive monitoring of backups, batch schedules, generators, UPS systems, and other data‑center equipment.
• Collaborate with business users and IT teams to analyze recurring issues, recommend improvements, and optimize processes.
• Manage and resolve technical incidents, following established incident‑management procedures and escalating when necessary.
• Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, SOPs, and infrastructure policies, ensuring they are up‑to‑date and compliant.
• Validate daily/weekly backup jobs, investigate failures, and coordinate off‑site tape transfers with vendors.

Required profile

• Education in IT or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a focus on improving support processes.
• Experience coordinating IT support across multiple regions and time zones.

Required skills

• NOC monitoring and incident management.
• Backup monitoring, restoration, and off‑site tape handling.
• Data‑center equipment monitoring (generators, UPS).
• Documentation and SOP maintenance.
