Lead Software Engineer – Analytics & Reporting

About the role

We are building a dedicated App team within our Analytics & Reporting group to own the customer‑facing side of the Uberall platform. As Lead Software Engineer you will act as a player‑coach, managing a six‑person team while staying hands‑on in architecture, code reviews and development.

Key responsibilities

• Own and evolve the public data APIs and the micro‑services that power them.
• Develop and maintain the Analytics section of the Uberall platform, including frontend filtering and custom report APIs.
• Deliver and support QuickSight customer reports and the underlying gold‑layer datasets.
• Deploy, operate and monitor services on Kubernetes (AWS), define observability metrics and SLOs, and lead on‑call rotations.
• Recruit, mentor and conduct 1:1s for a team of 3 backend, 2 frontend and 1 QA engineer, fostering a strong engineering culture.
• Collaborate daily with product managers, designers and UX researchers to translate requirements into shipping features.
• Drive migration of legacy data pipelines to the new Data Engineering stack and modernise the backend stack towards Kotlin.
• Shape the next generation of analytics, including AI‑assisted insights and API exposure for AI agents.

Required profile

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with deep backend expertise on the JVM.
• 2+ years of experience leading an engineering team with full people‑management responsibilities while remaining hands‑on.
• Proven track record designing, operating and evolving micro‑service architectures in production.
• Strong collaboration skills with product, design and data engineering partners.
