Payroll Coordinator

About the role

We’re looking for a detail‑oriented Payroll Coordinator to manage and support accurate, timely payroll processing while ensuring compliance with U.S. federal and state requirements. The role works closely with Human Resources and Accounting and serves as a key point of contact for payroll‑related questions and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Process bi‑weekly payroll accurately and on time.
• Review payroll data, earnings, deductions, and adjustments and resolve discrepancies.
• Process salary changes, bonuses, PTO, sick pay, new hires, terminations, and other employee changes.
• Manage wage garnishments, levies, and other payroll‑related payments.
• Assist employees with payroll questions and company payroll policies.
• Maintain accurate employee and payroll records.
• Conduct periodic audits of deductions and payroll data.
• Collaborate with HR and Accounting on payroll‑related issues and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve and automate payroll processes.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and payroll information.

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience in payroll processing or administration.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience processing payroll for a large employee population (preferred).
• Knowledge of U.S. federal and state payroll requirements.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Multi‑state payroll experience and CPP certification are a plus.

Required skills

• Experience with payroll systems such as Paylocity, ADP Workforce Now, UKG or similar platforms.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
