Senior Data Platform Architect (AWS) – Remote

About the role

As a Senior Data Platform Architect you will lead the assessment and redesign of a complex data marketplace built on AWS. You will define a resilient target‑state architecture, create a practical roadmap, and guide the team through implementation while collaborating with seasoned consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Assess the current‑state data platform, including pipelines, lakehouse architecture, and federated data access.
• Design a target‑state resiliency architecture for the data platform.
• Develop a roadmap with concrete quick‑action items for team ramp‑up and execution.
• Collaborate closely with incumbent architects and consultants throughout the engagement.
• Critically review and correct AI‑generated code as part of an AI‑assisted software development lifecycle.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture on AWS.
• Strong expertise in AWS lakehouse architecture, especially Amazon S3 and Apache Iceberg.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Iceberg.
• Experience with Starburst or Trino query engines.
• Proven track record in current‑state assessments and roadmap development.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
