Senior Elixir Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Elixir Engineer to design and build real‑time, high‑concurrency backend services. You will work remotely with BairesDev’s global team, delivering scalable solutions for leading tech clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop robust APIs and backend services using Elixir, Phoenix and Ecto.
• Implement real‑time features with LiveView, GenServers and OTP supervision trees.
• Architect and optimise PostgreSQL schemas and complex queries.
• Ensure system reliability, fault tolerance and high availability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate product requirements into clean code.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to maintain engineering standards.

Required profile

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, specifically with Elixir and Phoenix.
• Proven ability to build concurrent, real‑time backends using OTP patterns.
• Strong understanding of functional programming and data modelling with Ecto.
• Experience designing scalable, distributed systems with a focus on fault tolerance.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
