UI Systems Designer – Remote

About the role

Blacksmith Agency builds websites and marketing programs for clients across the US. As a UI Systems Designer you own how client design systems are built, turning brand guidelines and reference sites into reusable patterns. Precision and system‑first thinking are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming that our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so developers or automated pipelines can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands simultaneously, each looking distinct while maintaining the same structural rigor.

Required profile

• 4+ years designing for the web with real design‑system work in your portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto‑layout, and variants; you deliver actual architecture, not just tidy files.
• A portfolio showing varied client work while maintaining consistent underlying rigor.
• Strong English and availability that overlaps with US business hours.

Required skills
