CH47 Aircraft Mechanic II

About the role

The CH47 Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible for performing inspections, repairs, and modifications on CH‑47 Chinook helicopters. The role involves working on airframe structures, hydraulic and plumbing systems, and both reciprocating and jet engines to ensure safe and airworthy conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 100‑hour, progressive, isochronal, phase and calendar inspections on airframes and engines.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild structural components such as wings, fuselage, rigging, and control surfaces.
• Diagnose and fix engine malfunctions using tools like ignition analyzers, compression checkers, ammeters and Jetcal testers.
• Remove and reinstall engines using hoists or forklifts, disassemble, inspect, and reassemble parts.
• Maintain electrical wiring systems, aircraft accessories, and perform routine tasks such as flushing crankcases, cleaning filters, greasing parts, and brake checks.
• Document all work performed in maintenance records and ensure compliance with FAA regulations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
• Minimum two years of aviation maintenance experience.
• At least three years of rotary‑wing (helicopter) experience.
• Two years of hands‑on experience with CH‑47 or similar aircraft.
