CH47 Aircraft Mechanic II

About the role

The CH47 Aircraft Mechanic II performs avionics, electrical, and structural maintenance on CH47 helicopters, ensuring safe and reliable operation. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting aircraft components in a shop or field environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct 100‑hour, progressive, phase and calendar inspections, and perform detailed engine and airframe examinations.
• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, rigging, hydraulic, and plumbing systems using hand tools, sheet‑metal equipment, welding gear, and rivet guns.
• Diagnose and repair electrical wiring, avionics, and engine components using test equipment such as ignition analyzers, compression checkers, and Jetcal testers.
• Enter maintenance actions in aircraft logbooks, verify work quality, and supervise jacking and towing of aircraft.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid A&P license (or equivalent experience) and at least two years of recent aviation maintenance experience.
• Three years rotary‑wing experience and two years on CH47 aircraft.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain facility credentials and a US passport.

Required skills

• A&P license (or comparable qualifications).
• Proficiency with aircraft maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical publications.
• Hands‑on experience with sheet‑metal tools, welding equipment, rivet guns, and torque wrenches.
• Knowledge of engine testing equipment (ignition analyzer, compression checker, Jetcal).
• Ability to perform detailed inspections of reciprocating and jet engines, including turbine blade assessment.
