Collections Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Collections Specialist with strong skip‑tracing and investigative abilities to recover delinquent automotive accounts. The ideal candidate can locate individuals with limited or outdated information and communicate professionally with customers about outstanding debts.

Key responsibilities

• Research and verify contact information using approved databases, public records, skip‑tracing tools, and other resources.
• Investigate accounts with outdated, inaccurate, or missing contact details.
• Contact customers regarding outstanding automotive debt and work toward resolution.
• Negotiate payment arrangements, settlements, and other resolutions within established guidelines.
• Follow up consistently on accounts and payment commitments.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all collection, skip‑tracing, and account investigation activities.
• Review account information to identify opportunities for improved recovery.
• Provide internal teams with timely updates on account status and recovery efforts.

Required profile

• Previous experience in skip tracing (required).
• Experience in automotive debt collection, auto finance collections, or related fields (preferred).
• Strong research, investigative, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, especially in difficult conversations.
• Detail‑oriented with strong documentation and follow‑up capabilities.
