Human Resources Administrator

About the role

The Human Resources Administrator will support Food For The Poor’s operations in Honduras by managing payroll and providing general HR services. This position ensures accurate, timely payroll processing and maintains comprehensive employee records while supporting people‑focused initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare bi‑monthly payroll, accurately processing salaries, deductions, allowances, benefits, overtime, leave and other payroll incidences.
• Maintain employee and payroll data in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, salary changes, absences and vacation.
• Review payroll documentation for completeness and accuracy before submission for approval.
• Generate routine payroll reports and maintain payroll records in compliance with Honduran labor, tax and social security regulations.
• Maintain electronic and/or physical personnel files, ensuring all required employment and payroll documentation is up‑to‑date.
• Process employee lifecycle events such as onboarding, changes, leave administration and separations.
• Respond to routine team member inquiries regarding payroll, HR policies and employment documentation.
• Provide administrative support for HR programs, onboarding, training, employee communications and engagement events.
• Assist the HR & Administration Manager with HR projects and other operational priorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or university coursework in Human Resources, Business or a related field.
• Experience with payroll administration and HR processes.
• Knowledge of Honduran payroll, labor, tax and social security requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
