Pediatric Cardiology Sustainability Program Manager (Honduras)

About the role

The Pediatric Cardiology Sustainability Program Manager will lead the execution of World Pediatrics' grant‑funded initiative in Honduras, ensuring the program meets its strategic priorities and sustainability objectives. This role coordinates multiple stakeholders, monitors performance, and drives accountability across all components of the pediatric cardiology system.

Key responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the four strategic priorities: surgical coverage and wait‑list reduction, talent development, supply‑chain stabilization, and strengthening the national pediatric cardiology system.
• Develop and manage detailed workplans, timelines, milestones, and performance indicators.
• Monitor progress toward sustainability goals, identify operational risks, and address implementation challenges promptly.
• Ensure alignment and effective communication among World Pediatrics, Fundación María, Hospital María, the Pediatric Cardiology Unit, the Ministry of Health, and international partners.
• Support decisions of the Cardiology Steering Committee and coordinate the annual cardiac surgical coverage plan.
• Track surgical volume, wait‑list metrics, staffing capacity, patient readiness, ICU bed availability, equipment status, and critical supplies.
• Promote collaboration, local ownership, and long‑term sustainability through regular stakeholder engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in program management, preferably within health‑care or global‑health projects.
• Familiarity with pediatric cardiology initiatives and health‑system strengthening.
• Ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders, including hospitals, ministries, and international partners.
• Strong monitoring, evaluation, and risk‑management capabilities.
