Professional University Intern – Communications & Graphic Design

About the role

The Communications & Graphic Design Intern will support GOAL’s Programme Innovation Lab by creating and organising communication and design materials for digital channels and external engagements, ensuring clear and consistent messaging.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a social media plan for the GOAL Humanitarian Innovation Fund‑funded projects, covering platforms, content pillars, posting frequency and tone of voice.
• Design a template library for project spotlights, innovation updates, impact stat tiles, quote cards, event announcements, recaps, carousel storytelling sets, one‑pagers and newsletter headers.
• Produce and publish the first batch of live content (8–12 posts) introducing the Fund and its innovations to external audiences.
• Set up a structured, labelled asset library in the Lab’s shared content folder for ongoing use.
• Support the design and production of social media and digital content, including graphics, simple layouts and short‑form assets.
• Assist in preparing and formatting presentations and communication products such as PowerPoint decks, one‑pagers and visuals.

Required profile

• University student completing a professional internship in Communications, Graphic Design or a related field.
• Portfolio demonstrating design work or digital content production (academic projects accepted).
• Interest in humanitarian and development work and understanding of how communications support social impact.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite (or equivalent design tools).
• Basic video editing using tools such as CapCut, Premiere or similar.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
