Technical Support Engineer – Utility PV & BESS (Honduras)

About the role

The Technical Support Engineer will be the technical owner for utility‑scale photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across Honduras. You will ensure timely issue resolution, lead onsite commissioning, and coordinate with internal teams and external service partners while meeting defined Service Level Agreements.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary technical owner for Utility PV and BESS products in Honduras.
• Take end‑to‑end ownership of service tickets, from diagnosis to closure.
• Coordinate customers, Level 1 Remote Support, and expert teams to provide accurate updates.
• Perform onsite troubleshooting, diagnostics, corrective maintenance, and technical support when remote solutions are insufficient.
• Lead commissioning activities and provide guidance for new Utility PV and BESS installations.
• Prepare and deliver field service reports, technical investigation reports, and root‑cause analysis documentation.
• Dispatch and manage external service partners for onsite interventions.
• Deliver technical training and mentoring to service partners to improve quality and capability.
• Provide technical feedback to Product Management, R&D, and Quality teams for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field.
• Proven experience supporting utility‑scale PV systems and/or BESS.
• Hands‑on experience with onsite commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with EHS requirements, electrical safety regulations, and utility‑scale project procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of working independently under pressure.
• Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills in an international environment.
• Willingness to travel extensively across the Honduras region.
