UH60 Aircraft Technical Inspector

About the role

The UH‑60 Aircraft Technical Inspector ensures that assigned helicopters meet all required specifications and are airworthy before flight. The role involves planning, conducting, and supervising technical inspections, as well as developing quality‑control and safety programs.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect repairs, modifications, and structural components of UH‑60 aircraft and engines, documenting serviceability status.
• Conduct audits of work centers, maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
• Review maintenance source documents, track recurring discrepancies, and initiate corrective actions.
• Manage material deficiency and technical order improvement programs, and generate quality deficiency reports.
• Brief pilots and crew on functional check flights, participate in maintenance test flights, and ensure compliance with configuration control and diagnostic equipment calibration.

Required profile

• Minimum five (5) years recent aircraft maintenance experience, including at least one (1) year inspecting UH‑60 aircraft.
• Valid FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license and FAA Inspection Authorization (IA), or equivalent experience as an aircraft inspector on UH‑60.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Security Clearance (NAC‑I T1 Public Trust) and a valid driver’s license.
• US citizenship required for the security clearance.

Required skills

• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems applicable to aircraft fabrication, repair and maintenance.
• Proficiency with the Unit Level Logistics System‑Aviation Enhanced (ULLS‑AE) for record keeping and reporting.
• Experience with aircraft sheet‑metal tools and test equipment such as torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, cable tensiometers, and sheet‑metal brakes.
• Ability to evaluate personnel skills, provide technical guidance, and prepare detailed inspection reports.
