About the role

The CH47 Aircraft Mechanic II performs avionics, electrical, and structural maintenance, modifications, and repairs on CH47 helicopters. The role includes inspecting, troubleshooting, and restoring aircraft components to ensure safe operation.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures and functional components using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and specialized machinery.
• Read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and technical data to determine repair methods.
• Conduct scheduled inspections, engine examinations, and turbine blade assessments using testing equipment such as ignition analyzers and Jetcal testers.
• Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reinstall engines and related systems, employing hoists or forklifts as needed.
• Adjust, repair, and replace electrical wiring and aircraft accessories; perform pre‑flight, thru‑flight, and post‑flight inspections.
• Supervise aircraft jacking and towing, record maintenance actions, and ensure work meets FAA licensing requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid up‑to‑date A&P license with at least two years aviation maintenance experience, three years rotary‑wing experience, and two years on CH47 airframes.
• If no A&P license, three years aviation maintenance, three years rotary‑wing, and two years on CH47 required.
• All experience must be within the past five years.
• US citizenship and a valid US passport for facility credentials.

Required skills

• Aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting and repair.
• Electrical theory and aircraft wiring repair.
• Use of specialized tools: torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, welding equipment, sheet‑metal brake, rivet gun.
• Engine testing equipment: ignition analyzer, compression checker, distributor timer, ammeter, Jetcal tester.
• Operation of hoists, forklifts, and ground support equipment.
• Ability to read and apply technical publications and logistics information systems.
