Chief of Party – USDA McGovern‑Dole Program

About the role

World Vision is seeking a dynamic leader to head the USDA McGovern‑Dole program in Honduras. The Chief of Party will provide overall strategic, technical and operational direction for the initiative, representing the project to USDA, government partners and other stakeholders while driving impact on food security, education and child nutrition in the Dry Corridor region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and monitoring of program activities across Ocotepeque and Lempira, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and donor requirements.
• Serve as the primary liaison with USDA, Honduran government agencies, implementing partners and donors, coordinating efforts to achieve program objectives.
• Oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage large‑scale grants, and ensure high‑quality reporting and financial stewardship.
• Guide adaptive management, incorporate gender‑equality and Do‑No‑Harm principles, and promote learning throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant field such as education, agriculture, nutrition, public health, development studies or international relations.
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing international donor‑funded development programmes, preferably in school feeding, nutrition or education.
• Prior experience as a Chief of Party, Deputy Chief of Party or Senior Project Manager in complex or fragile environments.
• Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
