Construction Estimator

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented Construction Estimator to join our team in San Pedro Sula. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial projects, supporting project planning, budgeting, and bidding activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review architectural, engineering, and specification documents to develop precise cost estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontracted work.
• Solicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Prepare detailed project estimates, budgets, and bid proposals within set deadlines.
• Analyze project scope, identify risks, and recommend cost‑saving opportunities.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to clarify requirements.
• Maintain and update pricing databases for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Compare estimated costs to actual project costs and analyze variances for continuous improvement.
• Participate in pre‑bid meetings, site visits, and project handoff meetings.
• Assist with value‑engineering initiatives to optimize costs while maintaining quality.
• Ensure estimates comply with company standards, client requirements, and industry regulations.

Required profile

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or related field (preferred).
• 2+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related construction role.
• Experience estimating residential, commercial, industrial, or mixed‑use projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry standards.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical drawings.
• Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.
