Data Engineer

About the role

Grupo Levanter is seeking a hands‑on Data Engineer to design, build, and optimise the data infrastructure that powers business operations and decision‑making. You will create scalable pipelines, improve database performance, and support cloud modernisation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise SQL Server databases and data pipelines.
• Analyse and remediate performance issues in complex or poorly structured databases.
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes using Azure data services and modern tools.
• Write efficient SQL queries, stored procedures and data‑transformation logic.
• Build data integration solutions with Python and Azure services.
• Support migration and modernisation of legacy systems to Azure cloud platforms.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts and business teams to ensure reliable data availability.
• Ensure data quality, integrity and system performance.
• Participate in Agile development processes.

Required profile

• Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration and development.
• Advanced SQL programming expertise.
• Hands‑on experience building data pipelines using Python.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure data services and cloud migration projects.
• Familiarity with Apache Synapse Analytics and modern data platforms.
• Knowledge of SAP ECC data structures is a plus.
• Upper‑intermediate to advanced English communication skills.
