About the role

The Deputy to the Garrison Commander provides senior‑level leadership for a large, multi‑mission garrison, overseeing installation and tenant activities and ensuring effective administration across multiple functional areas.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and direct installation and tenant activity operations for a large garrison.
• Provide administrative program direction to supervisors, site leads, civilian directors, and special staff.
• Formulate goals, policies, and objectives; implement internal control systems for accountability.
• Monitor implementation of higher‑level policies, adapt guidance for local conditions, and make recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with security clearance requirements, travel obligations, and medical/ immunization standards.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with proof required.
• Eligibility for a Secret security clearance.
• Willingness to submit required financial disclosure reports and undergo background investigation.
• Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (TDY/business travel).
• Completion of pre‑employment and annual medical examinations; immunizations as needed.
