About the role
The Head of Operations I (HoOps) in Honduras will lead the operational functions of Catholic Relief Services, including finance, human resources, supply chain, logistics, security, ICT and audit. Reporting to the Country Manager and sitting on the senior management team, the role ensures high‑quality support services for programs and drives continuous operational improvement, including climate‑action initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Provide leadership and management of finance, HR, supply chain, logistics, security, ICT and audit functions across the country program.
- Oversee financial processes, ensuring compliance with CRS policies, GAAP, donor regulations and local laws.
- Lead supply chain management activities and supervise logistics for complex, high‑volume programs.
- Promote safeguarding, health, safety and security for staff and partners.
- Drive climate‑action operational strategies to reduce greenhouse‑gas emissions and waste.
- Supervise and develop operational staff, conduct performance management and staffing planning.
- Coordinate annual budget planning and monitor expenditures using the Insight ERP system.
- Ensure compliance through internal and external audits and implement corrective actions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5‑8 years of progressive management experience, including at least 2 years in senior management with supervisory responsibility.
- Experience in international NGOs, preferably with US government donors such as USAID or USDA.
- Proven ability to strengthen partner capacity, staff development, training and team building.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial management, grant administration, budgeting and reporting for multi‑donor projects.
