Product Design Engineer

About the role

Product Design Engineers are responsible for maintaining and improving released products and their associated manufacturing processes. They work closely with project managers, operations, quality, sourcing, and product managers to sustain existing products from an engineering perspective.

Key responsibilities

• Design and draft engineering drawings of products using design and simulation.
• Develop design ideas based on customer interests, budgets, and market research.
• Select product materials and design the manufacturing process.
• Meet with the development team to discuss product ideas.
• Build and test product prototypes.
• Perform design failure mode analysis.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 0-3 years experience as a design engineer.
• In‑depth knowledge of Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of basic electricity and ability to read/create wiring diagrams.
• Experience with 3D printing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
