Senior Investment Associate – Corporate Finance

About the role

IDB Invest is seeking a Senior Investment Associate to support its "Originate to Share" model, focusing on corporate and project financing across Latin America and the Caribbean. You will work within the Corporates Division and regional Delivery Units, reporting to both the Managing Director of Corporates and the relevant regional Managing Director.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial statements and build/adjust Excel financial models to evaluate investment opportunities.
• Identify and assess potential investments, emphasizing credit quality and development impact.
• Support client relationship management and contribute to business development efforts.
• Participate in negotiations and coordinate transaction execution, including due diligence.
• Collaborate with development partners to manage environmental, social, legal, and governance risks.
• Prepare internal documentation, legal transaction documents, and assist with disbursements.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Masters, MBA or equivalent) in economics, finance, engineering or related field.
• At least 3‑5 years of experience in loan/investment origination, structured finance or corporate finance.
• Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
• Eligibility to work in the job location without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel financial modeling.
