UH‑60 Aircraft Mechanic II

About the role

The UH‑60 Aircraft Mechanic II is responsible for performing maintenance, modifications, and repairs on UH‑60 helicopters. The role involves working with both airframe and engine components to ensure aircraft are safe and mission‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures such as wings, fuselage, rigging, surface controls, plumbing, and hydraulic units using hand and power tools.
• Conduct 100‑hour, progressive, phase, periodic, and other scheduled inspections on airframe and engines, diagnosing issues like cracked cylinders, oil leaks, and turbine blade damage.
• Remove, disassemble, inspect, repair, and reinstall engines and related components, using hoists, forklifts, and specialized testing equipment.
• Adjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring and aircraft accessories; perform pre‑flight, thru‑flight, and post‑flight inspections.
• Supervise aircraft jacking and towing, record work in maintenance logs, and ensure compliance with FAA licensing requirements.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid up‑to‑date A&P license with at least two years of aviation maintenance experience.
• Three years rotary‑wing experience and two years on UH‑60 specific maintenance data systems.
• US citizenship, a valid US passport, and ability to obtain facility credentials.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lb, work in noisy, dirty, and austere environments, and pass respirator fit testing.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools, sheet‑metal brake, shears, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills.
• Experience using engine testing equipment such as ignition analyzers, compression checkers, distributor timers, ammeters, and Jetcal testers.
• Knowledge of aircraft technical publications, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and logistics information systems (ULLS‑A(E)).
• Ability to read and interpret FAA regulations and make accurate logbook entries.
