Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the role

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will manage the full order‑to‑cash cycle, ensuring timely collections, accurate cash application and reliable financial reporting. Working on‑site in San Pedro Sula, the role collaborates closely with accounting, treasury, sales and operations teams to support cash flow and strengthen internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Execute daily accounts receivable tasks including collections follow‑up, cash application, credits, adjustments and reconciliations.
• Monitor aging reports, identify overdue balances and drive timely resolution of disputes, short payments and deductions.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes through reconciliations, journal entries and reporting.
• Prepare schedules and documentation for audits, internal controls and compliance requests.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports on collections, DSO, unapplied cash and payment trends using Excel, Power BI and SQL.
• Identify process inefficiencies, recommend improvements and update SOPs for accounts receivable workflows.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, collections, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial close procedures.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience building dashboards and KPI reports with Power BI.
• Ability to extract and analyse data using SQL.
