Remote Accounting Manager (Education Platform)

About the role

We are seeking a Remote Accounting Manager to own the accounting function of a fast‑growing education platform that is expanding from 11 to 50 schools. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will take the month‑end close from 80 % to 100 % completion, manage vendor and payables processes, and build scalable finance systems as the business prepares for an eventual sale.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the full‑cycle month‑end close, delivering a 5‑7 day close timeline.
• Prepare, review and document journal entries with full audit trails.
• Oversee the procurement and payables platform, including vendor onboarding and payment inquiries.
• Identify finance processes that will not scale and design a roadmap for system and process improvements.
• Support consolidation of school information systems into unified finance data flows.
• Lead the finance function through its first external audit, leveraging prior audit‑readiness experience.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing full‑cycle accounting and month‑end close in a growing organization.
• Strong background in vendor management and payables.
• Hands‑on experience preparing for and completing external audits.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work US business hours with at least four hours of overlap.
