Senior Full Stack Engineer – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

LoanBud is seeking a senior full‑stack engineer to join its fintech platform on a remote, independent‑contractor basis. You will work primarily on a Java 21/Spring Boot backend while also contributing to TypeScript front‑end features, integrations, and cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services, APIs, and business logic using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
• Implement underwriting and business rules with Drools.
• Enhance TypeScript front‑end functionality and collaborate with UI teams.
• Model, query, and migrate PostgreSQL databases via Spring Data JPA and Liquibase.
• Integrate internal and external services through REST APIs, webhooks, and OpenFeign, maintaining OpenAPI specifications.
• Build and support asynchronous workflows, background jobs, and scheduled processes using JobRunR.
• Contribute to document storage (AWS S3), email/PDF generation (Thymeleaf, Playwright), SMS (Twilio), caching (Caffeine), and, when needed, PHP backend and Terraform‑managed AWS resources.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience building production‑grade Java/Spring applications.
• Comfort working remotely with overlap to U.S. Eastern Time.
• Strong technical judgment, clear communication, and ability to own features from requirements to production.
