Senior Kafka Engineer - Remote Work

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Kafka Engineer to lead our streaming data initiatives and build scalable, event‑driven architectures. The role is fully remote and will work closely with data engineering and development teams to deliver high‑performance streaming solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy scalable Kafka streaming solutions with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Lead technical decisions, define Kafka architecture and guide data pipeline implementations.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level engineers on Kafka best practices and streaming technologies.
• Optimize Kafka clusters for throughput, latency and fault tolerance in production environments.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate streaming capabilities into broader systems.
• Evaluate and adopt emerging streaming patterns and technologies to enhance data processing.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with Kafka or comparable streaming platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Kafka architecture, cluster management and stream processing.
• Proven experience with distributed systems, data pipelines and event‑driven architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of performance tuning, monitoring and troubleshooting in Kafka environments.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
