Software Architect (AWS & Node.js) – Remote (Latin America)

About the role

Bluelight, a leading software consultancy, is seeking a senior Software Architect to design and develop high‑performance, low‑latency services on AWS for clients across Latin America. The role is fully remote and offers the chance to work on challenging, market‑leading applications in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design low‑latency service architectures in AWS, including queues, caches, and search projections.
• Define explicit latency budgets (p95/p99) and implement synchronous durable commits for hot paths.
• Architect secure multi‑tenant solutions with trade‑off analysis (RLS, schema‑per‑tenant, database‑per‑tenant).
• Build scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations to external services.
• Create capacity models, cloud cost and performance projections following the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.

Required profile

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in an architecture‑focused role.
• Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree preferred).
• Ability to overlap US business hours and take extreme ownership of deliverables.
• Experience working in compliance‑sensitive or regulated domains is a plus.

Required skills

• AWS (including AuroraDB, RDS, queues, caching services).
• Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript.
• PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row‑Level Security.
• Design of scalable RESTful APIs and event‑driven architectures.
• Capacity modeling, cloud cost optimization, and familiarity with the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
