Temporary Senior Accountant (Remote – Latin America)

About the role

This four‑month temporary position supports payroll accounting, general ledger activities, month‑end close, financial reporting, grant expense accounting, audit preparation and process improvements. The role works closely with the Controller, Global Hub departments and country finance teams to ensure accurate records and strong internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Import payroll journal entries, reconcile payroll activity and resolve discrepancies in NetSuite.
• Prepare and post general‑ledger journal entries, perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and manage fixed assets, prepaid expenses and vacation accruals.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, conduct variance analysis and produce ad‑hoc reports.
• Support external audit schedules, maintain accounting policies and provide backup for accounts payable, employee‑expense reporting and daily bank reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• CPA or equivalent professional designation preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
• At least five years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or grant‑funded environments.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, payroll accounting and multicurrency accounting.
