Claims Manager – Personal Injury

About the role

We are looking for a proactive and detail‑oriented Claims Manager to oversee coverage, carriers, billing, and liens for personal injury cases. Working side‑by‑side with a Case Manager, you will identify all insurance options, build comprehensive damage records, and protect the client’s net recovery throughout each case stage.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for insurance carriers, maintaining adjuster information, logging correspondence, and tracking claim statuses.
• Identify all first‑ and third‑party coverage, including Med Pay, UM/UIM, policy limits, and non‑named insured driver coverage.
• Detect health‑insurance, provider, government, and workers’ compensation liens early, set up subrogation claims, and dispute improper charges.
• Maintain precise billing spreadsheets and management systems, confirming billed amounts, payments, adjustments, and balances to the dollar.
• Prepare comprehensive damage records by ordering outstanding bills, obtaining property damage documentation, securing witness statements, and escalating liability or coverage issues promptly.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in insurance claims, personal injury coverage, medical billing, subrogation, or lien resolution; adjuster‑side experience is a strong advantage.
• Solid knowledge of auto coverage structures and health‑plan/government lien processes.
• Strong numerical accuracy and comfort working with ledgers and balance reconciliations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using legal case management software, preferably Filevine.
