Human Resources Officer

About the role

The Human Resources Officer will work closely with country HR focal points and the UK‑based International HR Manager to ensure that HR practices and operations across Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador are compliant, efficient, and effective. Regular travel within the region will be required.

Key responsibilities

• Support all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from recruitment through to employee departure.
• Assist with the development, review, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local labour legislation and organisational requirements.
• Develop practical HR guidance materials and support the rollout of HR initiatives and training.
• Build the capability of HR focal points across the region through coaching and support.
• Monitor employee absences and leave records, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
• Produce HR reports and analyse workforce data, including absence trends, retention, turnover, and other key HR metrics.
• Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
• Review payroll changes and ensure HR‑related payroll information is accurate.
• Act as the first point of contact for employee HR queries.

Required profile

• A degree in Human Resource Management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Previous experience working in an HR environment.
• Knowledge and practical application of labour law.
• Experience working in a busy and demanding office environment.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
