Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Azure)

About the role

Food For The Poor is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain its Microsoft Azure environment. The role combines hands‑on engineering with senior‑level ownership of cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and automation, supporting the organization’s transition to a resilient, cost‑effective cloud platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and optimise Azure services such as virtual networks, VMs, storage, App Services, load balancers and DNS.
• Lead the development and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or Bicep, establishing reusable modules and version‑controlled pipelines.
• Drive cloud migration and modernisation projects, including workload assessment, dependency mapping, testing and production cut‑over.
• Monitor infrastructure health, performance and availability with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and Application Insights, and act as senior escalation point for complex incidents.
• Evaluate requirements and recommend solutions that balance scalability, security, resilience and cost.
• Support capacity planning and continuous optimisation of the cloud architecture.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure design and operations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead IaC initiatives and cloud migration projects.
• Strong collaboration skills across infrastructure, security, development and project management teams.
• Experience working in a mission‑driven or non‑profit environment is a plus.
