Senior Network Engineer

About the role

Charger Logistics, an asset-based carrier delivering freight on time and on budget, is looking for a well-rounded Senior Network Engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. The role covers designing, deploying and managing connectivity, security, delivery and monitoring services for virtual networks, as well as cloud-based network solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, redesign and implement connectivity, security, delivery and monitoring services for virtual networks, VPN, NAT gateways, DNS, load balancers, web application firewalls and application gateways.
• Design, deploy and manage cloud-based network solutions on Azure, GCP and AWS, including hybrid cloud integration.
• Implement BGP routing policies for optimal path selection and traffic engineering.
• Work with Infrastructure and Security teams to tune architecture, configuration standards and protocols.
• Develop the network roadmap, architecture, standards and governance, and monitor performance with advanced tools.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and automation of perimeter defense solutions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, maintaining and improving on-premises and cloud networks.
• Extensive background in core networking technologies such as TCP/IP, STP, HSRP, NAT, QoS, SNMP and SYSLOG.
• Knowledge of ITIL and change management processes.
• Self-starter with high energy for a demanding business and IT environment.

Required skills

• Cloud networking: VNETs, ExpressRoute, User Defined Routes, NSGs, Load Balancers, Application Gateways, DNS, Route Servers and Network Managers.
• Proficiency configuring and managing Cisco and HPE switches; extensive experience with HPE Aruba wireless and wired networking.
• Routing proficiency, especially BGP.
