Web Design Systems Designer

About the role

Blacksmith Agency creates websites and marketing programs for US clients. As a Web Design Systems Designer you will own the creation of client design systems, turning brand guidelines into reusable token architectures and component libraries that can be automatically processed.

Key responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming that our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that function across entire sites, not just homepages.
• Document the system so developers or automated pipelines can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands simultaneously, maintaining structural rigor while delivering distinct visual identities.

Required profile

• 4+ years of web design experience with demonstrable design‑system work in your portfolio.
• Strong English proficiency and ability to overlap with US business hours.

Required skills

• Figma variables, component properties, auto‑layout and variants.
• Token architecture and semantic naming conventions.
• Creation of core component libraries for large‑scale sites.
