AI and Transport Digital Transformation Consultant

About the role

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) is seeking a consultant to drive AI and digital transformation within its Transport Division. You will help embed emerging digital technologies into the Division’s analytical, operational, and knowledge‑sharing activities across Latin America and the Caribbean.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of the Transport Division’s AI and digital transformation strategy.
• Design and deliver training sessions, workshops, and practical guidance to raise AI and digital literacy among staff.
• Identify, assess, and disseminate emerging technologies, best practices, and use cases such as intelligent transport systems, digital twins, and mobility data platforms.
• Produce knowledge products including sector studies, case studies, analytical reports, presentations, briefing notes, and internal communications.
• Identify opportunities to integrate AI and digital components into sovereign‑guaranteed loans, technical cooperation operations, and advisory activities.
• Assist with the administration, monitoring, and reporting of digital transformation initiatives.
• Collaborate with area leaders, operational teams, and external partners to position the IDB as a leader in transport digitalization.

Required profile

• Proven experience in digital transformation and AI applications within the transport sector.
• Ability to strengthen AI and digital literacy among multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience conducting policy dialogue with government agencies and sector stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and communication skills for developing knowledge products and briefing materials.
• Experience designing and delivering training or workshop programmes.
