Consultor/a en Efectividad del Desarrollo y Gestión de Operaciones

About the role

The Inter‑American Development Bank (Grupo BID) is seeking a dynamic consultant to support the effectiveness of development and operations management across its project portfolio. The role will be based within the Department of Institutions for Development, contributing to the design, execution, and closure of operations aligned with institutional priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Review and strengthen project documents, including Project Design Documents (PDDs) and technical cooperation agreements.
• Enhance theories of change, results matrices, and indicators to ensure logical intervention design and robust results measurement.
• Support evaluability of operations and alignment with development effectiveness standards.
• Participate in quality review and corporate approval processes, including SPD and OVE reviews.
• Provide technical assistance to project teams throughout design, review, and approval stages.
• Monitor ongoing operations, prepare and review Progress Monitoring Reports (PMRs), and identify risks or bottlenecks.
• Contribute to the preparation and review of Project Completion Reports (PCRs) and post‑implementation analyses.
• Systematize evidence, results, and lessons learned to strengthen knowledge management.
• Facilitate coordination between operational teams and corporate units, supporting strategic initiatives on development effectiveness.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) in economics, public policy, statistics, or related fields.
• At least five years of progressive experience in multilateral or public‑sector funded projects.
• Fluent oral and written Spanish and English; additional French or Portuguese is a plus.
• Citizenship of one of the 48 member countries of the institution.
