About the role

The Deputy to the Garrison Commander provides senior leadership for the installation and tenant activity operations of a large, multi‑mission garrison. This position directs administrative programs, formulates policies, and ensures accountability across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and direct installation and tenant activity operations for a large multi‑mission garrison.
• Provide administrative program direction to supervisors, site leads, civilian directors, and special staff across various functional areas.
• Formulate goals, policies, and objectives; implement internal control systems for site accountability.
• Monitor implementation of higher‑level policies, recommend adaptations for local conditions.
• Ensure compliance with DoD civilian personnel regulations, security clearance requirements, and financial disclosure obligations.
• Oversee travel (TDY) requirements, medical examinations, and immunizations as needed.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship with proof required.
• Eligibility for a Secret security clearance (or access) for the duration of employment.
• Ability to complete a suitability/fitness determination and background investigation.
• Submission of Public or Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entry and annually.
• Compliance with DoD civilian personnel management regulations (e.g., DODI 1400.25).
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time (TDY) and undergo pre‑employment/annual medical exams.
