Financial and Credit Risk Management Consultant – Special Assets

About the role

The IDB Lab seeks a dynamic, results‑oriented consultant to support the management and resolution of its Special Assets portfolio. This remote position works within the Finance, Risk and People Division, reporting to the Division Chief.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze financial condition, credit risk and repayment capacity of distressed or underperforming clients.
• Conduct detailed financial and credit analysis, including review of statements, cash flows, debt capacity and liquidity.
• Assist senior specialists in assessing restructuring, recovery and write‑off scenarios.
• Monitor client performance, compliance with restructuring terms and payment commitments.
• Prepare draft memoranda, financial analyses and presentations for internal committees.
• Participate in client meetings and field visits as needed.
• Maintain up‑to‑date portfolio information and identify trends and risks.
• Support risk team in reporting through dashboards and portfolio analyses.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in finance, economics, risk management or related field; FRM or CFA desirable.
• Minimum 5 years of risk‑management experience in credit or equity operations within LAC countries.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (written and spoken); French or Portuguese a plus.
• Citizenship or legal work permit for Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, Peru or Uruguay.
• Remote work setup with own equipment, internet and phone access.
