General Accountant – Travel Agency

About the role

The General Accountant will oversee all accounting operations for a travel agency, ensuring accurate financial information and compliance with Honduran tax regulations. This full‑time, onsite position supports management decision‑making through detailed financial analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Record and review daily accounting transactions.
• Perform bank reconciliations and manage accounts receivable/payable.
• Prepare and analyze balance sheets, income statements, and cash‑flow statements.
• Generate financial reports for senior management.
• Identify variances and inconsistencies in financial data.
• Ensure compliance with Honduran fiscal and tax laws.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Leverage AI and technology tools to automate and improve accounting processes.

Required profile

• Valid public accountant license.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in accounting and finance.
• Proven experience as a General Accountant.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Familiarity with Honduran tax regulations.
• Experience with accounting systems, bank reconciliations, month‑end closings, and audit preparation.
• Analytical mindset, high attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Interest or experience using AI tools in accounting processes.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related area.
