Grants Financial Specialist II – LAC Region

About the role

Compassion International is looking for a Grants Financial Specialist II to lead financial planning and management for U.S. Government and other donor‑funded programs across the Latin America and Caribbean region. The role is remote, based in one of the eligible program countries, and involves collaborating with finance, program, legal and field teams to ensure compliance and effective use of grant resources.

Key responsibilities

• Develop budgets, budget justifications and narratives for U.S. Government grant proposals and other institutional donors.
• Manage the full grant financial lifecycle, from proposal development through close‑out, including monitoring expenditures and forecasts.
• Prepare donor‑compliant financial reports and conduct variance analysis.
• Support donor and procurement audits, including Single Audits, and strengthen financial controls.
• Partner with cross‑functional teams across multiple countries to ensure compliance with donor regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in grants finance, donor compliance or financial management, preferably in an NGO or international development setting.
• Demonstrated experience developing budgets and narratives for U.S. Government grants and knowledge of 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance).
• Experience supporting or managing Single Audits for U.S. Government‑funded programs.
