Grants Financial Specialist II – LAC (Remote)

About the role

Compassion International is looking for a Grants Financial Specialist II to lead financial planning and compliance for U.S. Government and other donor‑funded programs across the Latin America and Caribbean region. The role is remote, based in one of the eligible program countries, and involves the full grant lifecycle from proposal to close‑out.

Key responsibilities

• Develop budgets and narrative justifications for U.S. Government grant proposals and other institutional donors.
• Manage financial aspects of grants throughout their lifecycle, including monitoring expenditures, forecasts, and performance.
• Prepare donor‑compliant financial reports and conduct variance analysis.
• Support donor and procurement audits, including Single Audits for U.S. Government funding.
• Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
• Collaborate with finance, program, legal, compliance, and field teams across multiple countries.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field.
• 3‑5+ years of experience in grants finance, donor compliance or financial management, preferably in an NGO or international development setting.
• Proven experience developing budgets and narratives for U.S. Government grants.
• Strong knowledge of 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and experience with UN or other institutional donors.
• Experience supporting or managing Single Audits for U.S. Government‑funded programs.
• Excellent budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analytical abilities.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
