Healthcare Collections Specialist

About the role

We are looking for experienced Healthcare Billing & Collections Specialists to manage and recover outstanding healthcare payments. The role involves handling unpaid and underpaid claims, communicating with insurers, and managing a personal portfolio of accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Manage an assigned portfolio of healthcare accounts and follow up on unpaid, underpaid, and denied claims.
• Contact insurance carriers, adjusters, and other parties to investigate claim status and resolve balances.
• Analyze Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), reimbursement rules, fee schedules, denials, and payment discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit appeals, corrected claims, and supporting documentation.
• Negotiate with insurers and adjusters to maximize reimbursement and meet collection targets.

Required profile

• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in healthcare billing, medical collections, or revenue cycle management.
• Proven ability to work independently, manage a portfolio of accounts, and prioritize collection activities.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent English communication skills (C1 level or near‑native).

Required skills

• Pharmacy billing experience (or ability to learn pharmaceutical terminology).
• Knowledge of EOBs, reimbursement policies, fee schedules, appeals, denials, and payment reconciliation.
