About the role

Washington Academy is seeking a full‑time English Instructor to join its teaching team in San Pedro Sula. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality English lessons to learners of varying levels, following the academy’s curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and evaluate English classes for groups of different proficiency levels.
• Prepare teaching materials, practical activities and assessments that encourage active participation.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors to coordinate content, share best practices and enhance the learning experience.
• Monitor individual student progress, provide guidance and support tailored to each learner’s needs.

Required profile

• Degree or equivalent experience in English Philology, Translation, Education, Modern Languages or related fields.
• Advanced English proficiency (minimum C1) with strong command of grammar, pronunciation, and written communication.
• Previous experience as an English instructor, teacher or tutor, preferably in vocational or academic training centers.
• Solid pedagogical abilities, including lesson planning, classroom management and use of active learning methodologies.

Required skills

• Proficiency with presentation software for lesson delivery.
• Experience using online learning platforms and digital resources.
• Familiarity with video‑conferencing tools for remote or hybrid instruction.
• Ability to create and manage digital assessments.
